Android tablets are required for the OMG network.
Our app is built for Android and does not currently support other operating systems, including iPad. Many quality Android tablets are available brand new for under $50.
⚠️ Important: Your tablet must run Android 10 or higher. Older Android versions are not compatible with the OMG Player. Also avoid Android Go edition tablets — these are budget devices with a stripped-down Android version that doesn’t support full lockdown mode.
Option 1 — Use a tablet you already own

No purchase neededIf you already own a tablet, there’s a good chance it will work with the OMG network. Check the compatibility table below to see if your device qualifies. Here’s what to look for:
- Android tablet — any brand (Samsung, Lenovo, Amazon Fire, etc.) running Android 10 or higher. Preferred.
- Amazon Kindle Fire tablet — compatible, as long as it meets our Android 10+ requirement (Fire OS is based on Android). Fire tablets released 2020 or newer recommended.
- iPad (Apple) / Windows tablet — not supported.
- Old or spare tablet — a tablet you no longer use daily is perfect, as long as it meets the Android 10+ requirement, connects to Wi-Fi, and holds a charge while plugged in.

Budget-friendly — brand newYou don’t need an expensive device to join the OMG network. There are excellent Android tablets available brand new for under $50 that are fully compatible with our platform. We recommend searching for any of the following when shopping:
- Amazon Fire HD 8 (2022 or newer) — one of the best budget Android tablets available. Runs Fire OS (Android-based), Wi-Fi capable, holds charge while plugged in. Often available for $39–$49 new. Recommended.
- Amazon Fire 7 (2022 or newer) — the most affordable option in the Fire lineup. Compact and lightweight — ideal for kitchen counter placement. Often available for $29–$39.
- VANKYO MatrixPad — popular budget Android tablet, widely available on Amazon for under $50. Full Android OS.
- Dragon Touch tablet — another reliable budget Android brand available under $50, well-reviewed for basic app use.
- Lenovo Tab E7 / E8 — occasionally available refurbished or on sale under $50. Solid build quality.
